On 16th march 2023, the Settlement officer of Ladakh Mr Dhondup Tashi and the settlement officer of Dalhousie Mr Phuntsok Topgyal visited the office of the Tibetan Legal Association.
The meeting was insightful as various legal aid programmes were discussed and the urgent need to raise legal awareness in society was observed.
It was also observed that Tibetan people located in India, need to be made more legally aware of their rights so that they do not fall prey to incompetent authorities and unnecessary delays in justice. In fact, various other issues from their respective settlements were highlighted and ways to combat them were advised and discussed. With this, we would like to thank them to make us aware of the various loopholes in our justice system and how we can overcome them.
