Tibetan Legal Association gave a legal awareness workshop at a first-ever networking conference of Tibetan organizations working for people with disabilities, organised by the Tibetan Ability Center. The workshop focused on the Rights of people with disabilities under the Indian Constitution law, the criminal justice system, Health Laws & Education Laws, as well as laws in the Tibetan Charter. The workshop was attended by representations from Karuna, etc.
This made us aware of the urgent need and requirement for the rights of people with disabilities in our community. It also gave us the opportunity to learn more about the drawbacks and loopholes in our society and how can one overcome them. The session was followed by a Q&A.
