TLA had held Annual General Meeting in Mysore City from 29th to 31st July 2016, for the betterment of the Association. The AGM was attended by 32 participants including both law students and lawyers.
At AGM; rules Tibetan legal Association was revised, previous programs has been reevaluated. The members discussed and planned the future programs to be carried out by the association. In order to broaden the area of legal assistance, we opened regional chapters at Bangalore and Mysore where there are maximum number of Tibetan Law students and lawyers. The Executive Members of Regional Chapter, Mysore had been elected.
On 1st August 2016, JSS Law College invited President Lobsang Dakpa to Orientation Program as an honored Alumni. He represented all the members of the Association and given the principal of college a memento as a token of gratitude for being very supportive toward Tibetan students. Moreover the president spoke to seven hundred Indian audience about legal status of Tibet and critical situation of Tibet.
TLA president Mr. Lobsang Dakpa and Advocate Ms. Namgyal Tsekey were invited by JSS Law college on its Orientation day,During the Orientation program at JSS Law College, Mysore, Mr Lobsang Dakpa presented a Momento of appreciation on behalf of Tibetan legal Association to thank the College for its preferential treatment for the Tibetan refugee students in admission. process. The Principle Mr K.S. Suresh said in his speech that he had audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama who asked him to give admission to all the Tibetans students coming to his college for admission and since then Principle of JSS Law College never turned a single Tibetan students so far.
Tibetan Legal Association was registered on 23rd August 2014 under Karnataka Society Registration Act 1960. According to rules of Society Registration Act , the registration should be renewed annually . TLA’s registration was expired one year ago. Thus it was renewed on 5th August ,2016
