HC: SC/ST Act – Offence appears to be a misuse of law, the Court has the power to grant Anticipatory Bail

The Chhattisgarh High Court recently comprising of a single Judge bench of Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari ruled that when the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 appears to be a misuse of law, the Court has the authority to grant anticipatory bail.(Jawed Khan v. the State of Chhattisgarh)
